Brazilian public debt increases by 2.66% in nominal terms in February

Public debt, including foreign and domestic financing, rose by 2.66% in nominal terms last month – from R$3,053 trillion in January to R$ 3,134 trillion in February – according to data released today by the National Treasury.

According to report, the increase was due to government issuance of $75.64 billion, outstripping redemptions of R$16.7 billion, in addition to interest payments of R$23.4 billion.
